Inspired by 'minimal art', Lucy and I collaborated on 5 one-of-a-kind tote bags. We were loving the shapes of our small leather cut-offs and decided to make something new!
-We began by sorting through some inspiration:
-Then we brainstormed possible bag silhouettes.
-Drafted up a paper version to think through effective, minimal but quality design details.
-Then Lucy used what she learned in putting together her own collection to work up a pattern.
-We sorted through our favorite colors and shapes of leather pieces...
-Finally, we got to making! I worked on much of the base structure of the bags (straps, inside pockets, back pieces) while Lucy worked her precision (clean edges, seam allowance, thread coloring, leather piece composition) on most of the front of the bags.
