During a recent trip to Horween, I came across a plush leather hide I'd never seen before. The sunlight peering through the window of this family-owned tannery caused the color to glimmer; a rich forest green. It wasn't until I touched it that every possibility of moving on passed it was gone.
I had to have it.
Even after purchasing, it took three months before I cut into it. I knew it had to be special. So I designed three brand new pieces.
I've never made them before and they are the only one of their kind.

This summer marked the send off of my apprentice of 3 years, Lucy. What a pleasure it's been to have worked alongside her; learning as much as teaching.
My time with her has taught me a new appreciation for even the tiniest of details, that the right question can open up new realms in creating and to not be limited by others perception of you, age or otherwise.
